What is weightlifting?

Weightlifting is an Olympic sport made up of two disciplines: the snatch and the clean and jerk. In these lessons, you will gradually learn the fundamental principles and technique of both lifts. Both the snatch and the clean and jerk develop explosive strength, movement coordination, and upper- and lower-body strength.

Who is this class suitable for?

This class is suitable for anyone who wants to improve explosive strength or learn something new. The abilities developed through weightlifting transfer well to a wide range of sports, including sprinting, combat sports, strength sports, and CrossFit, where the snatch and the clean and jerk are part of the sport's movement repertoire.

What to expect in class

  • warm-up
  • technical drills focused on the individual aspects of weightlifting
  • applying these technical drills to the execution of the lifts themselves
