BJJ/Judo

Easter Opening Hours
Friday 3/4 (Centrum 8 AM–3 PM, Jinonice closed), Saturday 4/4–Monday 6/4 (both locations closed)

BJJ/Judo combines throws, control and groundwork in a technique-focused class; it suits both beginners and advanced students and develops balance, coordination and practical self-defence skills.
Our BJJ/Judo class brings together the best of two martial arts built on technique, control, and body mechanics rather than brute strength. You’ll learn how to work effectively with balance, leverage, and pressure, both standing and on the ground.
Judo is a traditional Japanese martial art and an Olympic sport focused mainly on throws, grips, and controlling an opponent. It uses the opponent’s strength and movement against them. Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) developed from judo and focuses primarily on ground fighting—techniques, joint locks, and chokes that allow you to control even a physically stronger opponent without using strikes.
In our classes, these two worlds connect naturally.
Classes are open to everyone, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. BJJ/Judo is also a great fit for those who want to learn self-defense. Compared with staying on your feet and exchanging punches, taking an opponent to the ground and controlling them can be a safer solution. These techniques are taught progressively and with precision in class.
Most training sessions take place in a gi, but by arrangement it is also possible to form a No-Gi group.
For your first session, wear comfortable clothing that won’t restrict your movement. You do not need shoes or any special equipment. Over time, we recommend getting a mouthguard and, if you want, a gi as well. Your coach will be happy to help you choose.
