Inactivity is the drug of modern times — and humanity’s biggest enemy. Start moving!
> The seminar is led by Pavla Kladivová, the only official trainer in the Czech Republic certified in Primal Move Level 2 and Ground Force Method Level 2 >
Most of us are born with essentially perfect mobility — meaning movement capacity, flexibility, and range of motion — but with almost no stability. As a child develops and gradually starts kneeling, crawling, walking, and running, mobility slowly decreases in favor of stability. That’s why most adults can’t perform basic, simple movements they handled effortlessly as children, such as a deep squat. So mobility is influenced not only by genetics, but also by the course of your life and how much you do — or don’t — train it. Why does this happen? When you stop moving and stop using your joints through their full physiological range, so-called “blind spots” start to appear in the body. You lose full-quality movement, and the body stops functioning in its natural way, which leads to imbalances, asymmetries, and pain. Muscles working through a smaller range aren’t able to produce maximum effort for the required length of time, so their performance drops. The body then compensates for an underperforming muscle group with another one, which becomes overloaded as a result.
Mobility training improves range of motion in all directions, which is important not only for maximum performance, but also to prevent limited movement in one joint from being compensated for by movement in another joint (for example, an immobile ankle being compensated for by the knees), which then become excessively loaded and more “worn out.” Good mobility helps prevent injuries during exercise, increases the performance of both muscles and the whole system, and helps correct imbalances and asymmetries in the body. It teaches you to use your body as one connected whole by coordinating the upper and lower body at the same time. Of course, it also strengthens the deep stabilization system, which over time you’ll begin to activate automatically, helping you maintain proper body alignment. Mobility work also gets your blood flowing, which is great prevention against cardiovascular disease.
